You’ll be getting this article on Monday, but I am writing it for you today Sunday in Bintan. I have the sea breeze blowing on my face and can hear the waves of the sea lapping.

I am running a short workshop on reconnecting to nature. Are you feeling a bit disconnected and a bit out of sorts? Time and time again research keep showing nature is so important to connect to yourself.

If you are alone and feeling lonely, one of the best things to connect to is nature. Nature is always there for you. Even in very urban Singapore, you can find a tree, park or a body of water.

Nature is very reliable and stable. You can count on nature being there for you. It will provide calm and stability that no person or relationship can. Developing a relationship with nature and allowing yourself to be embraced by the green tree, the chirping of the lizard or the sound of the lapping waves is very healing.

I choose Bintan to do this quick retreat because it’s a wonderfully close place to Singapore that you can do amazing bike rides, have the sea and trees. It’s a wonderful place to get up early and see the sunrise and meditate on the beach.

It’s only the calm and quite can we connect to ourselves and see what feelings are are trying to tell us.

For you next Sunday, see how you can incorporate quite nature into your weekend. This means finding a place to sit and look at tree. Listen to the ocean by quietly walking on the beach. Go for a bike ride or walk through one of the bikes. Watch a sunset or sun rise.

See what feelings you feel. Allow yourself to rely on nature.
