So what do you want for your 2019? Do you want better relationships? Do you want to drink less? Eat healthier? Get fit? Get off your psychiatric brain drugs? Do you want to love yourself more than ever before, making good choices and living your best life? Well, this can be your year and I can help you do that as your partner.
Many of clients, professionals, highly educated and seeming to have it all, come to me with the goals above. Do all of them achieve it? No they don’t. Why? Because they stop to soon and perhaps aren’t ready. Change is hard. Breaking life long negative beliefs and destructive choices takes great commitment, time and patience and courage. All my clients are so courageous for wanting more and facing their life to change it for the better. Do you want to be one of them?
I have a yearly ritual. I buy the next year calendar on amazon in October or November and hang it up January 1 of the new year. I love physical calendars. Love them! They have amazing art! Check them out and see for yourself! The physical calendar with all each month laid out with beautiful pictures makes me think about what I want for my new year.
I also have the ritual of taking down the old calendar and going through it. I mark on my physical calendars events, celebrations, holidays and things I want to remember. It’s amazing to drink my coffee on January 1st and look back at my year and see what I did and remembering how I felt. Reflecting on what I learned and how I want my new year to be. It’s a very powerful ritual.. You may want to consider it.
Many people make new year resolutions that often stop by end of January or mid February. I would suggest rather than those type of resolutions, think about how do you want to feel in the coming year? Do you want to feel more settled? Do you want to feel safer financially or with your career or in your relationships? Do you want more experiences and feelings of novelty and excitement? Would you like to feel more relaxed and Confident? Do you want to feel happy with yourself and your choices? Do you want to feel strong and fit? Do you want to feel sexy or desirable? What do you want to feel?
Thinking about how you want to feel is often a better way to start to organise your life, choices and goals. All of our doing is to produce a feeling. So if you start to think about what you WANT to feel this can guide and start to inspire you for different types of actives. Remember it’s what you WANT to feel… Not what you DON’T want to feel. Important to frame it in the positive.
Stuck or need help? These are things I help my clients to work. Many people don’t think about what they want to feel. It’s there, just not consciously. They instead think in punishing terms of should and must and a lot of negative talk. In the end this won’t motivate you.
